Sarah Louis
Monday, Mar 01, 2021Sarah Louis is a Biological Studies major in the Department of Biological Sciences in the Charles E. Schmidt College of Science who expects to graduate in the Summer 2022. "I am passionate about my major because it gets me one step closer to taking the MCAT and going to medical school," said Louis, who takes her classes at the Davie campus.
"I began FAU right in the middle of Covid-19 and have not had any official classes in person yet," said Louis, who said starting a new and unfamiliar university virtually and away from people was her biggest challenge. "I had to make schedules for studying and began using the Google calendar to keep reminders of what I needed to do. Doing that to keep ahead of everything allowed me to balance everything in my life," she said.
Louis, who is currently applying for summer research programs, chose FAU because she wanted a quality education at a university that was close to her Fort Lauderdale home. “Most of the people I spoke to about FAU said that they enjoyed attending the university,” she said.
Louis, who was born in Part-Au-Prince, Haiti, plans to become a pediatrician. During her spare time, she enjoys watching movies and working out three times a week. “I hang with my friends and participate in a lot of my youth church activities,” she said.
